Dr TJ is a very caring doctor. His practice is very busy but his team manages the work load efficiently. He has excellent communication skills and puts the patients at ease so that they could express their concerns without reservations. I have been under Dr TJ’s care for 12 years.

I had a very disturbing wellness visit with Dr.Martha Wesley on 2/2/23 apx.3 - 430pm. To give you context, Dr.Wesley came in with a medical assistant who had her back turned to view the computer monitor for most or the entire visit. (Dr.Wesley) Bedside manner wise, she made me feel extremely uncomfortable like in an ogling manner throughout the entire visit. I have no clue what her sexual orientation is, however I do know what it feels like to be ogled. I was informed to take my socks off, I had tights on and needed to take my pants off to take my tights off so that she could examine my feet. Dr.Wesley and her medical assistant should have stepped outside but both stayed inside the room while I changed. I have to note that this action was a breach of patient privacy as ALL of my doctors - including my gynecologist, leave the room and knock before they come back in. I am unaware of if she thought I was young and wouldn't say anything but I felt uncomfortable - as she noted in an unprofessional manner that I looked young for my age. During the check up, instead of asking me to unhook my pants myself, she started to unhook them for me, with which I moved her hand aside and did it myself! In all of my years of being attended to by medical professionals not once in my life has a doctor or nurse attempted to undress me. On top of that, when Dr.Wesley was leaving the room, Dr.Wesley knew I needed to place my pants and tights back on and placed a scale under the door to ensure it stayed open, I immediately closed the door behind me as people were walking by and I was still in my underwear! Just moments later, while I was still getting dressed she opened the door again - for no reason! And instead of apologizing, just stood there and stared at me and closed the door. Even if Dr.Wesley had come back in because she forgot something, she still needed to knock as all of my doctors have done in the past before entering an occupied room. I would like to reiterate that she came back for no reason! If this experience was not traumatic enough, I had to go get an echo test done in another room. Let me preface this by saying all medical professionals ask either on a form or vocally what your preference of doctor is, i.e, male or female. I walk into the room and there is a man in the room waiting to give me this exam. He informs me to take my bra and shirt off and put the gown on with the back open while he is still in the room. I was taken aback at this but still trying to keep my composure, as this is extremely unnerving, I asked for a woman to do this procedure. He then informs me that I have to schedule that. Because I have a tight work schedule and took this day off specifically for this doctor's appointment, I obliged and asked if he would step out of the room. He then refused and stated he would face the opposite way facing the monitor. I saw a screen next to me and I MYSELF pulled it out and opened it to undress. He informed me to be careful as he didn’t want it to topple over - this was the only thing he was concerned about, not my privacy obviously. At this point, I came out from behind the screen and this man informed me that I had the gown worn backwards and that the opening should be in the front. This was the breaking point for me, as this was absolutely inappropriate, I have to have a male medical “professional” place a stethoscope on and around my chest area and this doesn’t seem to be alarming in the least to him or anyone who works at this facility? I said ABSOLUTELY NOT, and said I would reschedule. As a male professional, speaking to a female patient, his only reply should have been “I understand”. As a note, I obviously will not be coming back. If I had rescheduled for another day, I would have needed to miss another day of work AND go to Queens because your highly unprofessional, unskilled, creepy employees/facility did not have access to a female medical professional?! Everyone at your facility needs to be retrained and Dr.Wesley as well as the male Echo test administrator needs to see the ramifications for their highly inappropriate behavior and conduct!! The way with which they handled me was very careless and seemed like common practice at this office, it is saddening and sickening. You need to reach out to me via email asap with answers to how this will be rectified. You will also be hearing from my legal team and I have already taken action with my healthcare provider. As neither myself nor them will be accountable for payment as this was a highly traumatizing experience. I am also in talks with the Office of Professional Medical Conduct to address this experience.

Great doctor. Assistants need to watch their language in front of patients. They also need to wear gloves when physically handling patients.

I have been under the care of Dr TJ for eleven years. One year prior to my CABG surgery and 10 + years since. From the time of my diagnosis from the heart catheterization that he performed and the CABG surgery that he arranged he has monitored my progress on a regular basis with periodic reviews and advice. Although the trek from New Jersey to NYC is somewhat inconvenient, I find it worthwhile to be under the care of a cardiologist/ internist that is very through in his examination and attention to detail.

I started seeing Dr. Schlossman in 2006. He scaled back his hours and partnered with Dr. TJ a few later. I'm a creature of habit and do not welcome change, especially sudden change joyfully. It took me a minute to warm up to TJ. One day, I couldn't see Schlossman because he, himself, was ill so I had to see TJ. I must say I was very, pleasantly surprised by his demeanor and bedside manner. He cares about his patients and does not play around when it comes to our health, AT ALL. He listens and lets you decide on your course of care rather than make the decision for you. I trust his judgment and appreciate the care he takes in my health and well being. He is such a good guy and his staff is nothing short of amazing! And talk about flexibility! I can see him in any office that is convenient for ME. Thank you TJ and team for the amazing care you provide.
